Friends, Romans, Countrymen...
...send us your booze?
Colin and I have yet to find a couple of delicious alcohols that were available in Chicago here in New Orleans. We could use some Zubrowka, and if Dean would only remind me of the name of that tasty juniper flavored gin, I'd ask for some of that too. ( Was it desert juniper gin?)
So, alcoholic care package anyone??

Let's see... I think maybe we were having North Shore gin, a very junipery one from Lake County. I seem to recall that Junipero gin from Anchor Brewing is also a very junipery gin--and that might be available nationally.
After reading North Shore's web page, can you believe they claim to make a even more junipery gin than their standard?
Citadelle, a french gin, is fairly junipery if I recall.
Don't miss the New York Times article on gins and martinis.
I think it was North Shore. It was from the north shore suburbs; I'm sure that has to be it.
Thanks for the NYT article; it might be tempting us into becoming bigger martini and gin drinkers. I just read about a place in the French Quarter called the Bombay Club; Nora and I might try to run down there sometime.
Wait, there's a distillery in Lake Bluff? How did I not know this?
